The incidence of ankyloglossia (tongue tie) and other oral tie diagnosis has exploded in recent years, with expanding indications cited for their release. This presentation reviews evidence and misinformation around “tethered oral tissues”, with a goal of generating discussion and encouraging critical analysis or literature and current practices. Methods of evaluation and treatment will also be discussed, along with focus areas for future research.
